THE DESIGN PROCESS

As part of my design process, I encourage you to part take in a design consultation and tasting. This allows me to get a sense of your brief and gives you an understanding about what you can expect.

 

PART 1 OF THE DESIGN PROCESS - THE CAKE TASTING

As part of the cake tasting process, I ask you to choose any 6 flavours you may like in your wedding cake. These are carefully packaged, boxed and sent out via our An Post delivery service.

 

PART 2 OF THE DESIGN PROCESS - THE CAKE DESIGN

I’d describe my style as an ethereal, enchanted, contemporary take on modern art. I enjoy creating pieces that are asymmetrical and textured with sugar flower and foliage arrangements that look organic and natural. I find inspiration in art, nature, culture and fashion.

I believe the wedding cake design is a collaboration between the couple and myself, whereby one cannot exist without the other. Prior to the virtual consultation, I require you to think through the elements of what you would describe to be the essence of you, what inspires you, what you love or the style of your special day. This could be images of art, jewellery, flower arrangements, your wedding dress or invitations etc. As these are the inspiration for your wedding cake design it is essential you bring samples of these to the consultation.

It is important that I stay true to myself and my creative style and I do not offer copies on other cake designers work or copies of images.

While designing your wedding cake, we will discuss various elements and ideas for your cake before providing you a sketch mock up of your cake design.

I encourage you to choose sugar flowers on your cake as they are food safe and I direct and manipulate their location, shape, colour and design. With sugar flowers there is artistry and fine crafting which creates the final finishing touch to any cake and brings it to another level. The additional advantage is that they can be used for many years after your wedding on cakes for other occasions.

 

PART 3 - THE CAKE DELIVERY - TRANSPORTATION, ASSEMBLY & STYLING

Delivery is available to Dublin and neighbouring counties. In quieter times of the year we have the capacity to deliver nationwide. Delivery includes the transportation, assembly and styling of your cake, all of which is done by Caroline. It is no problem to collect your cake the day of or before the event. Please contact us for a quote, as delivery is additional.

We recommend placing orders as soon as your date is known, as some dates especially in the summer months book out 12 -18 months in advance.
